Police checks

I am the owner of a clothing Boutique and a supplier from JHB sent a parcel to Ballito Post net on the 8th December for another shop owner to collect, in that parcel was a small order that i had placed and was to collect from the other shop owner. Up until the middle of January 2016 this parcel had still not been collected and the supplier asked me if i would collect it as it was stock that could of been sold during December and was now being wasted. It was consignment stock and had not been paid for by the other shop owner.

Today i get a call on my work phone asking who i am and why i collected the parcel. I was shocked as on the day i gave the tracking number and my ID number and i signed for the parcel. I was also concerned as i would of left my cell number and not my office line. when i asked this i was advised that they did a trace on me at the police station? now as far as i am concerned this is ******* and also would it not have been right to contact the original poster of the goods and it would of been clear straight away of what was going on?

I then get asked why did procedure not get followed? what do you mean by this? your staff should follow procedure its not my job.

Very sorry for the inconvenience and frustration caused. The matter was addressed by the owner of the store.

Kind regards.
