I had an urgent parcel to send from Johannesburg to Port Elizabeth. Due to the urgency of it, I elected to go to a well-established company, Postnet Princess Crossing. I was at the store at 11:52 am on Thursday 28 April 2022, and paid R225.00 for an Overnight delivery to Port Elizabeth. To my surprise, by COB on 29 April, the parcel had still not been delivered.
On Saturday 30 April 2022 I called Postnet Princess Crossing who very matter of factly told me that the parcel missed its flight and would only be delivered on Tuesday. I requested for the manager to call me. I need to point out that I downloaded the Aramex App and this showed me the parcel had arrived in Port Elizabeth Friday morning, so had been blatantly **** to as well. By 14:30, still no phone call, I went to the branch. The Manager literally shrugged his shoulders at me as if to say, "well, that is what it is, just accept it". I told him, dfue to the deadline being missed by them, I had lost out on a business opportunity and honestly, the least they should do was to refund my money as I paid for Overnight, not for 5 Day service. This he refused, could not see the ethical part of this, then proceeded to want to keep my receipt.
I have been trying to contact Postnet Head Office all day yesterday, thus far all day today and that number just does not get answered.
I am utterly shocked at the pathetic service level, or lack of service offered by Postnet. The parcel was finally delivered late afternoon on Tuesday 03 May 2022....
That is what you get for using Postnet Overnight Delivery... pay for overnight, delivery 5 days later.
