No sympathy, remorse and lof of excuses - PostNet TableView WestCoast Village
<div>The family faced a tragic event, requiring us to travel to Limpopo on November 29th for a funeral scheduled for December 1st. As our vehicle was fully packed, we decided to pack all the clothing for six people into a box for the entire month of December. Since we were departing on the 29th, we asked a family member to send the box on November 30th. The box was received at PostNet TableView WestCoast Village, and the sender was handed the receipt as proof, which detailed the sender, the receiver, and indicated a total weight of 32 kg, for which we paid R 935.00. Aramex collected the parcels, a total of 50, and scanned them on December 2nd. To our surprise, when we received the parcel, it was an 8.12 kg brown bag containing women’s clothes and spices. We immediately contacted the PostNet branch, where a representative named ++++ informed us that an investigation would be conducted, expected to take two weeks, involving Aramex as the courier service. After two weeks, we followed up and were told by +++++ that the investigation found no trace of our parcel, and they could only offer us R 1,000.00 for the lost parcel. Interestingly, we learned that there were only 50 parcels sent out that day, and they had successfully contacted 49 recipients who confirmed they received their parcels, with the exception of one customer who was out of the country. This means they managed to confirm receipt for 48 parcels, excluding ours. On the 20th, I called Aramex and spoke to a representative named ++++ to inquire about the lost parcel, only to discover that Aramex had not been informed of the issue and was unaware of any incident. However, we were initially led to believe by PostNet that Aramex was handling the investigation. It was puzzling to learn from Aramex that the tracking number associated with our receipt indicated they received a brown bag weighing only 8.12 kg, not the 32 kg noted on our receipt. How could a reputable company like PostNet, with over 30 years of industry experience, fail to locate a lost parcel? Given that only 50 parcels were sent that day, shouldn't they have been able to identify the customers who sent them? Wouldn't it make sense to check the CCTV footage to verify that our parcel was indeed loaded onto the delivery vehicle? Additionally, the assistant who helped our family member was a student, and when we called, we were informed she was not available as she was at school. We have re**** on PostNet for years to send clothes, and we have never encountered such poor service before. The value of the contents in that box far exceeds the disappointing compensation of R 1,000.00 offered by them.</div>
