NEXT DAY, AS IN TOMORROW, RIGHT?

Having phoned to confirm that Postnet uses DHL to courier packages hand to hand, I felt confident entrusting my package with them for an OVERNIGHT delivery from Cape Town to Centurion (Gauteng). I was assured the packaged would be delivered the following day at a cost of R260 (instead of the usual R99 for 2/3 day delivery). The next afternoon at 2pm, after waiting all day, I checked my tracking number only to discover my package was actually being handled by an unknown company, Aramex SA. Their online tracking service was useless so I phoned them, only to get given the runaround for 10 minutes... Finally, I was told my package is still in Cape Town, would only be sent out the following day. No apologies offered. No excuses even. I ended up waiting until just after 12pm on a Saturday (Aramex SA said they deliver 9-12 on Saturdays), again, no apologies.

Postnet, if we pay almost three times the normal rate for a NEXT DAY delivery, we expect a NEXT DAY delivery. Outsourcing the job to an unknown and unprofessional company is NOT the way to go about your business.

Hello AVOIDVODA,

Very sorry for the inconvenience and frustration that were caused with regards to your delivery to Centurion.

PostNet is part of the Aramex Group and subsequently our deliveries are done through the Aramex Network. We also outsource some of our international deliveries to DHL as we are an authorised DHL Agent. This only applies to international shipments.

As a result of undue delays with the airfreight that previous evening the arrival of the express freight that Friday missed the cut off for delivery.

Arrangements were then made to deliver the shipment to you on Saturday, 29 August 2015.

Our sincere apologies for the delay.

Kind regards.
