Met with arrogance in 3 branches and still not helped
Postnet is the worst service provider i have experienced. I prefer visits to Home Affairs, in fact. As an agent of DHL you would expect the criterias for overseas shipments to be the same. But no: Postnet has invented additional arbitrary rules which DHL dont at all care about. Plus the staff are arrogant, pedantic and militant. Ive been humiliated three times during all my 3 recent visits to postnet branches in Claremont, Observatory and Rondebosch. Shouted at in front of the whole shop because I wanted to send jewelry as a gift. Been made to unpack my entire parcel, unravel it to be told it cant be sent in the a4 standard price bracket anyway because it is 0.5 cm above limit. It was a soft parcel too. At DHL there is no such rule and i was met with a smile. Was going to be charged R1000 as opposed to R500 because my parcel that weighed 150g was 0.5 cm too thick. DHL sent the same weight parcel which was 5 cm without hesitation. Postnet wont send alloy earrings, DHL sent without questioning. Postnet requires contact details of reciever, DHL says I can put my own as the parcel is a gift. The difference is massive even though it is exactly the same service! It just dont make any sense.
If Postnet is carrying out a service for DHL, why do you create your own difficult and mysterious rules? In rondebosch, after my harassment by the staff, a gentleman approached me because he witnessed what had happened. He said that he had been noticing that Postnet is notoriously difficult and recommended me to use other couriers which he gave me the details of.
Is that what you want to happen? Potential customers advising others to go elsewhere? Is this the impression you want to give? Perhaps you don't want customers? One has really started to believe it. In that case, i sincerely hope you'll be left without from now on. I just wonder how many people like this gentleman or myself will avoid you at all cost and rather be met with friendliness by your direct competitors. I will actively advise anyone to go straight to DHL or a competitor unless they particularly enjoy useless customer service and miserable attitudes.
Good luck with sorting out your appalling and inefficient services.
