*********** and *****
Dear Hello Peter,
My husband and I had a bullbar sent from Malmsbury to Pretoria. When we initially decided to have it done we were comparing if it would be cheaper flying down to get it or having it sent up. My husband called PostNet and asked for a quote. The woman first told him it would cost around R1100. We agreed it would be cheaper and decided to pay the way bill when it arrived. As soon as our contact in Malmsbury went to the PostNet there and we went to pay on our side in Pretoria the bill was suddenly R1700. We decided to pay it as we did not want to inconvenience our contact, I must add here that we received not documentation. We were called 21/11/2019 to collect it and then told it would be another additional R750! This puts the total price at R2450. When we arrived I wanted to find out why all of a sudden it was more since we had already paid the money. According to the woman it was only a estimated quote. I was adamant that there must have been a mistake, when they finally admitted that the woman in Malmsbury incorrectly measured the bullbar. She was off by close to one metre! I am disgusted that their incompetence has cost me this large amount. It would have been cheaper to fly down pick it up and fly back. But to add insult to injury, the fragile, as it was marked, parcel which was wrapped in one layer of bubble wrap which was torn and resulted in a number of scratches on the plastic and metal of the bull bar. This we could only see once I paid the R750 to receive the parcel.
I then asked for all the details as I was very unhappy and dissatisfied. I was given the paper work, only to discover when i got to my car they had not given me the info I asked for, and they had written down, of whom to contact. I went back and asked for the info again and was finally given the paper they wrote it down on. I went home and phone the number and spoke to Johan Kruger. I explained my situation and why I was unhappy. He told be he would investigate and get back to me. I waited all of Friday and over the weekend. I again tried phoning him on Monday 27 November 2019 only to reach his voicemail. I left a message and still have not received any feedback. I will try again today, but will probably not hear a thing as he will see it is my number and let it ring.
We live in a country where the post office does not work and so we rely on companies such as PostNet. It is absolutely disgusting that people are treated in such a dishonourable fashion. Not only that but that one person's incompetency has cost me a significant amount of money. I would not have used their service if I had known that it was that amount, but I will never again use PostNet's services again after this experience.
To all who do, be warned!
