******* CREDIT CARD MACHINE USAGE AND POLICY
On the 1st March 2015 I was informed by POSTNET SANDTON CITY, that they don't accept credit card payments for amounts less than R50. My bill was R25.
Having owned a retail store I informed the lady serving me that this was an ******* practice (CREDIT CARD VENDORS ARE OBLIGED TO TAKE CC PAYMENT FOR ANY AMOUNT) and that I will lodge a complaint, she told me to go ahead!

I asked which bank was the service provider on their credit card machines, she hesitated and told me FNB. As such I lodged a complaint with FNB. FNB followed up with me and then tracked down the owner of PostNet Sandton City, who informed them that they use Standard Bank credit card machines!

I had asked FNB to ensure that this ******* practice is stopped HOWEVER now that I find out that Postnet Sandton City deliberately **** in order to avoid any action against them, I requested STD Bank to remove their credit card facilities from PostNet Sandton City!
Very sorry for the inconvenience an frustration that were caused during your visit to our Sandton City store.
The matter was referred to the owner and he advised that the counter staff member misunderstood and stated that they used FNB card machines, whilst they operated Standard Bank ones. The business holds a FNB bank account and it was assumed that the card machines would be from the bank. Very sorry for the communication error.
It is so that the store owner can determine the limit on card payments.
Kind regards.
