Beware of Plush Carwash

Take your car to Plush Car Wash at owner's risk. I am highly disappointed by the treatment I received at Plush and believe also that if I was male and of a different race, the treatment would've been different (yes I went there).

The car wash (in Bellairs Shopping Centre, North Riding) broke my passenger seat and the person cleaning obviously didn't report it. Luckily, I noticed before I got home and went back for them to fix it. After they failed, they told me I could take it and get it fixed and they would settle the bill. I took my car to a BMW dealership so that it could get fixed, I kept them in the loop the entire time, giving them a formal estimated cost from BMW and booked the car in for a week later.

The car got repaired. Their insurer later rejected the claim stating that this is normal wear and tear and that the seat looked like it had been fixed before. I've had my car for 6 years and have never repaired the seat, moreover, hardly anyone sits in the passenger seat of my car, if a seat were to break it ought to have been the driver's seat. Plush also refused to pay for the seat, stating that it is normal wear and tear as per their insurer's report, despite the fact that the seat was broken IN THEIR CARE. In addition, the total cost for the repairs was just over R12k, their excess is R10k. So Plush would've had to pay R10k themselves anyway and the insurer only R2k. R12k to me is a lot of money but is just change to a business like Plush, or at least I would assume.

In conclusion, I'd just like to warn all of you via my experience. Just know if they damage anything while cleaning your car, they will not take any responsibility for the damage. And good luck if you are black and female.

Still looking for ways in which I can get this rectified to get the car wash to take some sort of responsibility.
