False promises to lure money
I had cancelled my membership with planet fitness around 25 July 2026 due to dispute being on a month to month since 2023 and billing coming to almost R6000 around the 27 July 2026 the Rententions agent Tebogo had called me stating that if I stay renew the contract the old debt would be written of (captured below on email) I had paid the R975 joining fee and also incurred cost to join sanlam reality today 20 August 2026 I get sent an email that unfortunately after signing up paying funds etc planet fitness cannot right the old debt off yet proof of email below. Your reference number is:PFQ-903396 I hope you're keeping well. I noticed you've recently begun the cancellation process for your Planet Fitness membership, and I wanted to reach out before it's finalized. I’d like to offer you a chance to renew your membership by paying only R975.00 and activate your sanlam reality discount benefits. Once that payment is made, I will request the necessary approval to write off the remaining outstanding balance, as long as you resume using the gym. This is a once-off opportunity to help you continue your fitness journey without the burden of the full arrears. We understand that life circumstances change, and we’re here to support you however we can.
