Sneaky small print -NO PRO RATA REFUND ON THE SALE OF A VEHICLE

Just shocked to find that when we sold our car today 10th January - we do not receive a pro-rated refund but that they require a month's notice. You would think selling a car would not apply to that. Particularly since people usually sell a car to buy another one. The agent informed me that if i purchased a car we would be liable for the remainder of the month to pay again! Outrageous! Despite the fact that we apply by phone - i am told it's in the small print. Seriously???
