Pineapple Insurance is boosting their numbers by Deliberately Works to keep my policy active

I cancelled my policy with Pineapple over a year ago, yet it is still being reported as active on my credit profile. The insurer failed to submit the required update to the credit bureaus.

Under the National Credit Act and POPIA, IWYZE/Pineapple, as the data furnisher, has a legal duty to ensure that all information supp**** to the bureaus is accurate and up to date. Passing responsibility onto the customer and telling me to lodge a dispute myself is unacceptable and a breach of their obligations.

I have even asked the insurer to prove that they followed all required processes when cancelling the policy, but instead I’ve been treated with dismissiveness and poor communication over email.

This results in inaccurate data being reflected on my credit report and directly undermines consumer rights.

Moreover the credit bureaus themselves says the following:

“contact the lenders directly and request them to send the updated information to Experian. This is usually the best (and quickest) way to get information updated. Once the lenders/creditors have sent the manual amendment request, it will take 5-10 business days for Experian to update their records. The changes will then reflect in your next month's credit report. “

I have given Pinaapple plenty of chances to act. But here we are. Please assist me raising this with NFOSA and the Information Regulator for proper investigation as well.
