Pineapple Claim Rejection [UNFAIR]

I must express my deepest reservations and profound disappointment regarding my experience with Pineapple Insurance. It is with a heavy heart that I recount the events following an unfortunate road incident where a motorist blatantly disregarded a red light, resulting in a collision that left me with a broken hand.

In the aftermath, seeking some solace and support, I turned to Pineapple Insurance, trusting that my policy would provide the necessary coverage. However, my claim was met with an unexpected denial, rooted in the company's policy of conducting an ICT credit check prior to claim approval. It appears that any outstanding debts, regardless of their nature, serve as grounds for claim rejection.

To add insult to injury, the interaction with the assessor assigned by Pineapple Insurance, Chad Marais, was far from professional. His demeanor was not only rude but also patronizing and condescending, which only exacerbated the distress of an already trying situation.

It is with regret that I must caution potential customers against being swayed by the seemingly attractive premiums offered by Pineapple Insurance. The allure of affordability pales in comparison to the potential risk of claim denial and the lack of empathy and professionalism that I have experienced. It is a lesson learned in the hardest way, and I hope my story serves as a warning to others to carefully consider their options when choosing an insurance provider.

Hi Isago,
It's been several days without a response. I've escalated this matter within your internal processes, yet I still haven't received any feedback.
It's incredibly disappointing to be a victim of driver negligence, resulting in the total loss of my motor vehicle despite having insurance, and not seeing any progress or resolution.

Hi Isago

I must point out that the information in your rejection letter regarding the panel beater "Triple S Panelbeaters" where my vehicle is allegedly stored is incorrect. This error raises serious questions about the accuracy and thoroughness of your investigation. I urgently request that you provide me with the correct information on my vehicle's whereabouts immediately.

The lack of communication and progress on this matter is unacceptable. I have repeatedly attempted to engage with your company and even escalated this issue through your internal processes, yet I continue to face silence and inaction. As a loyal customer who has faithfully paid premiums, I expected far better service and support during this challenging time. Your current approach falls woefully short of the standards one would expect from a reputable insurance provider. I demand an immediate and comprehensive review of my claim, along with a detailed explanation of your findings. Furthermore, I expect a swift resolution that appropriately compensates me for my loss, as per the terms of my policy.

Your prompt attention to this matter is not just expected, but required.

Hi Thulile,
I'm seriously upset about how my case is being handled. I reached out to both Pinapple and Iwyze's objection departments days ago, and I haven't heard a peep back. Not even a simple "we got your message." This silent treatment is not okay.

Instead, Veron Pieterson went ahead and sent me a "notice of cancellation of my cover" out of the blue. They didn't bother to explain what this means for me or how it might mess up my chances of getting insurance elsewhere. That's just not right.
