Pickfords South Africa a disaster

I trusted Pickfords to move my process valuable and irreplaceable 1900’s marble and alabaster statue, a family heirloom for over 80 years. I discussed my packaging requirements with the Manager of the Johannesburg branch and he confirmed in writing that the item would be crated safely and carefully in a wooden box. When the item arrived it was not in a crate as promised but wrapped in plastic. They neglected to crate my valuable statue as confirmed in writing and then refused to accept any responsibility for their negligence and breach of agreement when it arrived smashed in pieces!! Pickfords cannot be trusted to do what they promise and they don’t have the integrity to back their service or stand by their word. They simply ***er behind their contract and walk away.
