Pickfords picked a pocket or two

I contracted Pickfords to move my entire household goods, vehicles included from Johannesburg to Cape Town in January 2015. Everything went well, the packing team arrived, packed all my possessions well, loaded it all on the truck and departed. The load was delivered on time, offloaded and the truck departed leaving me to unpack.<br> Then the fight started.<br> When unpacking, I discovered that a ***** on Pickfords packing team had selectively removed two cameras, IPad, iPod, GPS, MP3, and cell phone to the value of R28 000-00 leaving only the boxes.<br> I immediately reported to Pickfords who referred the claim to their contracted insurers, Associated Marine A Division of Santam Limited.<br> After more than two months of fighting, I have been forced to accept half of the insurance claim as the underwriters have evoked every small print ploy to avoid payment. Pickfords have promised a token compensation of R3000 for the theft by their staff. This leaves me sadly short in addition to the substantial moving and insurance premium costs.<br> Bottom line, don't use Pickfords to move if you want to keep your possessions!<br>
