I went to Pick 'n Pay in Richards Bay yesterday. I needed to buy a fair amount of groceries so chose one of their large shopping trolleys. Halfway into my shopping, I looked down and saw my cream coloured trousers covered in a black grimey substance from where I'd leaned over the trolley to reach a product on a shelf plus my top was also streaked with this same filthy substance again from where it had touched the trolley. Then I looked at my hands. Yeuk! They too were covered in the same grimy substance from where I'd had my hands on the trolley handle. I was disgusted that Pick 'n Pay should expect their customers to shop for food using a filthy, dirty trolley. I asked a cashier for one of her lappies and showed their Supervisor and Asst Store Manager how filthy the cloth was when I wiped the trolley. We understand that the trolley cleaning service is outsourced to an outside company and it is clear that neither the outsourced company nor the Pick 'n Pay Manager responsible is doing their job.
