Worst Service EVER!!!!!

What an extremely disappointing experience at Pick n Pay Mulbarton today. Unfortunately, We encountered two employees who seemed unwilling to assist us. They both gave us a dismissive attitude and barely acknowledged our guidance with regard to past experiences at Pick n Pay. No effort at all was made to provide guidance or solutions. The lack of customer care and disinterest from Ntando ( Cashier) and Duduzile (Manager) left a sour taste.

Ntando ( Cashier) refused to assist because I presented my digital smart shopper card which I have used at multiple other Pick n Pay stores and when I asked them to type the smart shopper card number or scan Nthando ( Cashier) advised that they don’t accept digital Pick ‘n Pay smart shopper cards and further more they not allowed to type the number. Which in essence this means I could not access the benefits/rewards of the smart shopper points . When she called her manager Duduzile she just looked at us and advised they don’t accept digital smart shopper cards at Pick n Pay Mulbarton.

What was even more demeaning was the way Duduzile (Manager) advising us its *****ulent for us to use a digital smart shopper card which for us was so uncomfortable to hear such feedback in the presence of other customers implying that using technology to shop convientley is *****ulent and an incorrect way of shopping. We honestly felt this was defamation of character. Would the next thing be that we can no longer utilise virtual bank cards / apps to pay at all Pick ‘n Pay?

This is really unacceptable from such a large franchise that mutiple people shop at. We would request confirmation from Pick n Pay Malburtan on both advised by the staff to ensure that we understand what type of customers they can service ( Exmaple only customers that have physical bank cards and physical Smart Shopper cards).

Both Ntando & Duduzile where unhelpful and where not willing to help and I am even more disappointed as I have received no communication from Pick n Pay that they no longer accept digital smart shopper cards and if this is the case there is no indication of my digital smart shopper card not allowed here. I trust Pick n Pay can confirm the above as if this is the case I don’t see a reason to return to this franchise which is really unpractical with it’s decision to not accept digital cards in 2024 where as the likes of the competitors Checkers & Woolworths are always willing to accept my digital reward card.

Truly disheartening experience at Pick ‘n Pay Malburton and would not recommend this store to anyone at all for their poor customer service and interactions. With above said I know in confidence that my digital cards will be accepted at Checkers and Woolworths which we are comfortable to switch too going forward.
