We are in the dark

Concerned employees of Olympic park trading 118 Pty Ltd/ pick n pay family store dobsonville ext 3 we are left in a dark as employees as our shop was looted on the 11th of July 2021 and the unrest carried on to the 12th July 2021and was burned too. On the 2nd of August 2021 we were made to the sign a temporary lay-off by the lawyer who represents the owner of PNP Simbarashe Mazhande the lawyer who's name is Arthur Nieklaassen promised that he would apply the UIF fund (Covid-19 temporary relief scheme for employers/employees) from the department of Labour as the South African President said the employer needs to apply for their employees we haven't been getting straight answers from our management and from the lawyer for there was a WhatsApp group which was created by the employees and the lawyer of the company was in the group to We thought it would be easier for us employees to communicate and be updated with the news but the lawyer recently left the group on the 30th of August 2021 with no clear updates for us employees on the (UIF fund TERS). We have no idea when we should even expect the money or whatsoever. And our July salary was also paid late on the 3rd of August 2021.

 The labour law experts said that the law protects workers during emergencies from being fired during periods when the businesses are unlikely to open. The employers should have to continue paying full salaries to workers who are willing to continue to work after the burn down and the business is operating again. Shouldn't it be what we supposed to get as employees full salaries as we wait for the UIF fund (TERS) , cause at the end we have debts to pay, rents to pay we have no money to buy food and our management is not communicating with us including the lawyer of the company we actually don't know where we stand......below the email written it's of one of the shops which Simbarashe Mazhande owns cause ours it's burned it's currently closed.
