Useless manager
Yesterday on 16/01/2018, I went to Pick ‘n Pay in Wonderpark to buy some kids stationary when I was ill treated by some “food manager” (Skiet Danny) who was not even supposed to be at the tills. I bought a product which scanned R21.99 on the shop floor scanners but unfortunately did not scan at the tills. The teller then called some guy by the name of “Skiet Danny” (Not official P’nP tag name) to assist her with authorisation of manual capturing. I explained to this “Skiet Danny” that the product was R21.99 and he vehemently refused and also refused to go with me to verify the price telling me that is either I am taking the product for his owned engineered price of R25 or I leave it. I tried to convince him of the price and also explained to him that I worked for P’nP for some time and if he insists on his own price, I will pay but afterwards I will invoke P’nP policy of wrong pricing but he did not budge. He was extremely rude to me and I finally paid as I needed the product for the school opening. I then went to the floor again to rescan the product and one of P’nP staff members confirmed the price that I told “Skiet Danny” about and we (me & P’nP staff) then went him to explain the correct price but this “Skiet Danny” continued with his arrogance and did want to take my story which made me upset. Luckily there was a one of the “frontline supervisors” by the name of Boitumelo who intervened and eased the tension that was about to explode to another level. All that I am appealing to P’nP is that I am not concerned about that little change because it wouldn’t make any dent to my financial wellbeing but to deal with the attitude of its staff. It looks like more Customer Relationship Management (CRM) is required for even its managers, otherwise the situation will continue to deteriorate to the level where P’nP is going to lose its selling preposition and target market. I recommend that this “Skiet Danny” must be taken through “The Four Legs of the Table” book by Raymond Ackerman so that he improves on his attitude towards customers. This will not only improves P’nP’s bottom lines but will also help to retain its customers and attract new ones.
