Urgent complaint Elderly mother accused of **** money at Pick n pay protea Glen
I am extremely disappointed. On 15 August 2026 at Pick n Pay Protea Glen Mall, my elderly mother bought groceries for R400 and left the store. She returned within 15 mins to buy a forgotten item. Only then she was publicly accused of paying with counterfeit money and forced to pay an additional R100. She was humiliated in front of other customers, could not sleep, and was treated like a ********. Your staff showed us CCTV on a PERSONAL phone which only shows her paying R400. It does NOT show a **** note. The same CCTV shows another customer paying R150 immediately after her, and all money being mixed in the till before the cashier claimed to find a **** note. This does NOT prove the note was from my mother. No ****-note check was done at payment, no counterfeit receipt was given, no police was called as per SARB procedure. You just ******ed R100. I want a full refund of R100, proof that the note was my mother's (till audit + SAPS counterfeit report + note serial number), and a written apology. Showing CCTV on a personal phone is a POPIA violation. Protea Glen Mall must not bully elderly customers. Email:***, ***
