Unwilling to help

I bought a kettle from pick n pay on Thursday. I haven't even taken it out of the packaging. Wanted to return it and take something else, as I do not have the slip. After the supervisor embarrassed me in front of quite a few people informing me that they do not stock the Philips kettle that I \bought"from them less than 5 days ago"
