Unresolved Refund and Poor Service with Pick n Pay asap

It is deeply concerning that even amidst Pick n Pay's widely reported struggles in South Africa, including recent store closures due to poor performance, likely exacerbated by a lack of care from some employees towards both customers and the company's success, the company continues to deliver such unsatisfactory service through its asap platform. While I acknowledge PnP's efforts to offer convenient services like on-demand delivery, the execution and customer care have been severely lacking, suggesting a potential disconnect in employee engagement.

Recently, I placed an order through the PnP asap service which was not delivered. Despite this, my request for a refund from my wallet, initiated several days ago, has not been processed. This lack of urgency and attention to customer issues is unacceptable, especially from a company facing financial pressures that could be linked to such shoddy service. In my original frustration, I even thought to myself that this feels like *****ing or theft – taking money for goods not received.

This is not an isolated incident. In December, I experienced a similar issue where an ordered item was missing, and the refund was not returned to my bank account but remained in the wallet, forcing me to spend it within the asap platform. This pattern suggests systemic issues within the asap service, potentially stemming from employees not prioritizing customer satisfaction or adhering to proper procedures.

Interestingly, my experience ordering Pick n Pay items through the Mr. D platform has been consistently positive and significantly better than my direct interactions with PnP asap. This stark contrast further underscores the specific failures within the PnP asap service itself.

The lack of communication and apparent unwillingness to promptly refund customers for undelivered goods via asap is alarming, particularly given the current state of the business where every customer interaction should be valued. It actively discourages loyal customers like myself from continuing to support Pick n Pay's direct delivery service. If PnP cannot reliably manage its on-demand delivery service, perhaps it should reconsider its involvement in this market, especially when resources might be better allocated to addressing internal issues affecting service delivery. I urge Pick n Pay to address this issue and process my outstanding refund immediately, alongside a broader review of its employee engagement and customer service standards within its asap division.
