Unhappy Customer

On Christmas Eve Table View Pick n Pay branch was sold out on 2 items I needed. The Staff indicated their stores are closing at 7pm. I then rushed to Pinelands Howard Centre Pick n Pay. As i arrived the doors just closed at 6:30. I was so fumed as we planned Christmas Eve dinner. About 12 customers was stopped in their tracks at the time. No indication or signage was visible of the store closing at 6:30. Some of the customers rushed from work to this situation. We let out our frustration with the security who had no name badge and demanded to see Manager (Ruan). After about 10min. no manger appeared. As people left the store . A young gentlemen ,frustrated took the initiative since the Manager refused to face the customers, we followed the young man and calmly walked into the store and did our last minute shopping. No one stopped us.This happened at 6:40. Some customers was talking to the Manager in the stores.I engaged with some staff who found it hilarious regarding the customers entering the store . They indicated the Manger made an error by closing the store early. I then left the shop at 6.50. To find more customers demanding to enter the store. The manger was now talking to the customer's. A customer who was fami**** with retail, asked the Manger if this is his stance since there's no indication of the store closing early. The only indication is the normal weekly hours. This was not even a public holiday. I heard the Manger say the sign was their. And they we doing festive training. He could not let them in since he only had 2 tellers. The retail was so furious. He said."we are your customers " this fell on deaf ears. It was now 7pm. And the 7 customers just walked away. I think the Manger was lying to us. I could be wrong. He did not leave us with a good feeling about the Pick n Pay brand. I hope the Retail guy actioned this as well. I frequent the shop daily , i did not once see any signs of the store closing early.
