Yesterday due to the transport strike certain staff members were not able to get to the school at which I work, to prepare food for the children. A lot of our pupils are very poor and come to school hungry. A couple of us sprang into action and started phoning around to see if we could round up 450 hot dog rolls and Vienna sausages. All the Spars we phoned went out of their way to help, even though they too were short staffed. All except Pick n Pay, Heugh Road, Walmer, Port Elizabeth! I couldn't even get anybody to agree to see how many rolls they had in stock before I drove there! The staff were totally uncaring of our plight! I believe this is a family store i.e. Someone owns it. Well, the store gets worse by the day Mr Owner; no stock, bad fruit and veg, and worst of all, shocking staff
