Unacceptable Service & Refusal to Assist – Pick n Pay
Date of Purchase: 13 January 2026 Date of Return Attempt: 28 January 2026 I am extremely disappointed and frustrated with the service I received from Pick n Pay. I purchased stationery items at Pick n Pay William Moffett on 13 January 2026. On 28 January 2026, I went to Pick n Pay Despatch to return the items after realising that I had bought the wrong ones. This was a basic stationery item, and Pick n Pay Despatch also sells stationery. I was told that the return could not be processed because they “do not stock that item” and because the barcode could not be read. Instead of assisting me or trying to resolve the issue, the staff were not interested at all. They made no effort to investigate the barcode problem, offered no solution, and were clearly careless and dismissive about what I was explaining. The staff attitude was poor, unhelpful, and unprofessional. I felt ignored and brushed off, as if my concern did not matter. This level of service is unacceptable from a national retail chain. Customers should not be inconvenienced or sent away because staff are unwilling to help or because of internal system or stock issues. Being told to go back to another branch for a simple stationery return is unreasonable and a waste of my time. I expect the following: a formal apology for the poor service and staff attitude, and a full refund for the returned items. This experience was far from exceptional and has left me very dissatisfied with Pick n Pay.
