Treated like a ******** in public

Around 2 weeks ago on a Sunday, we visited your Acropolis branch to have some shopping done. We completed our shopping and my husband was walking out of the store while reading the till slip, when the security guard stopped him rudely and said he wants to see the till slip. My Husband said to him one minute i am checking something. He refused to let us go from the store, held us back and checked every single item in our trolley and ticked it on the slip, while other shoppers looked at us like we stole something from the store. This was really embarrassing for us, we have never ever been treated like this, not even in other smaller stores, who do check and have a sign on the front that they are authorised to check your purchases. We requested for the store manager to investigate why the guard treated us like ********* in the presence of many other shoppers who stopped and looked at us in a demeaning way while leaving the store. And guess what - the guard did not check their purchases! The manager came to us and said to us that we called him out of a meeting and was very irate with us. My husband said to him we are being embarrassed here in your store in the presence of other shoppers and you cannot ask your guard why he is performing in this manner. The manager then told him 'let's go to my office and sort this out'. My husband was very upset and said to him that he wants us to discuss this in his office and not let others hear the discussion, while we were embarrassed in the presence of many people. The manager then addressed my husband as 'Boss you do what you want' to which my husband got extremely upset and told the manager off, which became even more unpleasant as the guard was looking on and felt he won the battle against us while making us look like utter fools. We called the complaints division the same time on that Sunday, the rep took down our details, to date we have not received a call or even an apology for being treated like *********! I have not shopped at any Pick 'n Pay store since then, and I won't. Rather I go shop at a store who respects me than to be treated by your employees of a large organsation who supposedly 'prides themselves on customer service'. Both my husband and I work in the service industry, we do not behave this way with customers. Thank you, Pick 'n Pay, for making us look like ********* in the presence of many people who ridiculed us. To the manager from Acropolis branch - you need to go back and learn how to deal with customers. You need to learn how to respect people and talk like a gentleman.
