Traumatic ordeal at Pick n Pay, Loch Street, Meyerton .
At approximately 10: 30 am on the 23 April I walked into to Pick n Pay on Loch street Meyerton , the ordeal has left me traumatized and set on never setting foot into a Pick n Pay store ever again nor using any of their services.I was merely trying to withdraw money that was sent to me by a family member ? I walked in asked one of the cashiers if she had a certain sum of money before I joined her que she kindly stated no maam . So I then realised i cant go to every till to ask the same thing let me just join one of the other ques and hopefully I will be better off.How wrong I was. After joining one of the ques waiting my turn I encountered the rudest cashier . She refused outright to assist me .She stated she doesn't have the amount of money I need and there is nothing she can do, I asked her cant you ask your supervisor to assist she Said No, i asked cant you then ask any of the other cashiers if they have the money again she said No. I then asked so what am I to do as this is the only Pick n Pay I cant simply drive to another town just to withdraw money. She said I dont know maam but can you move aside so I can assist the next customer. I was so shocked and stood my ground and stated NO.I joined the que it is my turn why wont you help me, the back and forth exchange went on till one of the supervisors finally came to find out what is going on and I explained I need to withdraw money from pick n pay and this lady refuses to assist me .She then told the first supervisor this customer wants me to go fetch the money for her why didnt she ask the othercashier"I thought to myself but is it not in your job description to assist me.More supervisors came and this cashier was down right verbally attacking me for absolutely no reason. She then finally went to go ask for the amount from their office. When she returned she rudely insisted I give her my phone and I said its ok il hold it for you .And she insisted on taking my phone so I said no ma'am the voucher number is clear you can read it from my screen for hygiene purposes I cant give you my phone we are socially distancing we are in the midst of a pandemic. SHE COULD NOT OPERATE HER TILL.She then said my voucher number is invalid so I told her it is impossible it was sent this morning call one of your supervisors to assist you.She then removes her mask and shouts at me saying" the problem is you dont want to listen to me" .At this point I was emotionally drained and felt so insulted, I had to ask this women to put her mask back on her behavior is unnecessary. The supervisor again returned and had to show her how to operate her till.My voucher was valid, i recieved my money after a good 15 min of fighting with the cashier. I decided to take matters into my own hands .I called them a few minutes after I had left stated my case and requested the name of the cashier so I can report her to Pick n Pay Head offices .I received her name the just as I was about to call head office to add insult to injury a gentleman calls me to tell me that they have looked at the footage and saw that I pushed in front of the que and the lady told me she does not have the money. I told him to look at the entire footage. I called head office . They sent an email to the pick n pay .They called and simply said we are sorry. No mention of any disciplinary action that will be taken against this cashier absolutely nothing just "we are sorry".So I guess she will be free to insult the next customer at random and all Pick n Pay will say to their customers is" We are sorry".By far the worst customer service I have ever recieved. Ruined my entire day.I will no longer be using their stores and will ask money never be sent to me through pick n pay ever again.Terrible traumatizing ordeal.Shocking how this Pick n Pay allows their cashiers to insult and attack their customers.
