Thulani Mngomezulu : Outstanding Service Etiquette And Professionalism

I would like to pass a compliment to Thulani Mngomezulu from Pick n Pay Northgate Mall. I've had the pleasure of dealing with Thulani over the last few years and have found him to be an outstanding person with regards to his professionalism, etiquette, knowledge and customer service abilities. He's always polite and has an excellent knowledge of the store and how to run it with aplomb. He's especially outstanding in challenging situations and is always there to provide a solution and going the extra mile to take care of his customers. He's also a man of his word and he keeps his promises and does not make exuses to evade any responsibility. This kind of quality is very rare these days and Thulani definitely stands out from the crowd with his professionalism and customer relation abilities. The outstanding leadership qualities of Thulani is such that I could spend the next few hours complimenting him and it would have still not covered all I can say about him.

Thulani is an excellent ambassador for Pick 'n Pay and he does promote the brand with pride and excellence. I wish that Pick 'n Pay recognises this talent and rewards these individuals accordingly. He's definitely an asset to the company.

I would even go so far as to say that Thulani should teach and train Nhlanhle Maseko who's also a manager from the same store. Nhlanhle has no customer relation skills at all and has even gone to the extent of insulting and degrading customers in front of other customers. Everytime time bar two occasions that I've been to the store, I've only seen Nhlanhle sit behind the computer by the admin box and actually wonder what purpose he serves in the store. The only two times I've seen him outside this box was when he embarrassed himself by not understanding and having no clue about the current promotion being run by Pick 'n Pay. He has no service etiquette and definitely did not have product knowledge on that day. He was insulting and started to abuse the customer when his incompetencies were shown to him. He was rude and abusive and definitely disrespected the Pick 'n Pay brand. The other time I found him chatting and socialising with colleagues by the lawnmower section.

Nhlanhle would do himself a great favour by spending time with and learning from Thulani. In fact, Nhlanhle is the total opposite of Thulani with regards to customer service, etiquette, professionalism and product knowledge. Nhlanhle has displayed none of these in my experience with him and has definitely *****ed the Pick 'n Pay brand. I've even reduced my number of visits to this store due to his pathetic behaviour. If it wasn't for Thulani, I would probably not visit that store. It's people like Nhlanhle that has let that store down.

As mentioned earlier, I believe that Thulani should coach and mentor Nhlanhle on how to be a manager and also how to be customer centric and also have product knowledge skills. It's the simple things that count and Nhlanhle has displayed to myself that he has neither the etiquette nor temperament not customer relation skills to be a manager in that store and the good work being done by Thulani gets eroded by Nhlanhle.

Apologies for the deviation but this was supposed to be totally about Thulani Mngomezulu and the outstanding work he's doing in that store. It's people like Thulani that has your customers coming back there time and time again. He's got a great personality and always provides service with a smile. I've never seen up upset even when the store was packed and his attention was needed in multiple places at the same time. He always has time for you and NEVER lets you down.
