Think before you buy from PnP
I always called it Pick 'n Pray that you ever get to pay. PnP at Shelly Centre have friendly staff and it was wonderful when they introduced a common queueing system. My problem is that out of 30 basic items on my my shopping lists, I am lucky f I can get 10 and those 10 are over-priced. Woolworths in the same centre offers superior quality at a lower price. PnP bread was always good but they have increased the sugar in their bread so I can n longer eat it. Their deii, fish counter, butchery, "to go food", veges, eggs and all other "fresh" food is not fresh. I can't even walk past those aisles because I hate the smell. Their veges are the worst. More than double the price of any other shop on the South Coast and I wouldn't even take free of charge. Way beyond the sell by date. If I am going to PnP, my list never includes fresh food. I know PnP is more expensive than anywhere else but I bite the bullet to save time. PnP never has all the non-perishable items on my list. I then need to go elsewhere to buy fresh food, veges and all the other 20 non-perishable items on my list list that PnP dd not have. That's when I realise that PnP charges 20-25% more. Do PnP management live in Cloyd Cuckoo Land? Surely you know what other supermarkets charge? It's swings and roundabouts depending on your supplier, etc Sometimes perhaps you charge less. From my experience, PnP are consistently over-priced , do not offer the selection and I don't trust your fresh food, Yesterday the "special" was 2 roasted chickens for R110. The chickens were dried out as they were probably cooked over the weekend. I do not believe your "Sell By Dates". I paid R170 for Smoked Salmon Slices. As I started to cut the packet open, I could smell that it had to be in a sealed plastic bag and in the bin ASAP. That was not on "special" but had probably been frozen and defrosted more than a dozen times. I notice that the butcher no longer uses stickers for chicken that has been previously frozen even though the "fresh" chicken breasts have obvious signs of freezer burn.
