I had been at Telkom and decided to enter Pick n Pay for a bottle of water. The security officer requested that I leave my backpack (I'm a rep, I don't carry a handbag) at the parcel counter. I understand that shoplifting is common in the mall.

I reluctantly left my bag at the parcel counter with a lady. I quickly grabbed my water and rushed off to the till.

I waited at the till because they're extremely slow. The cashier was with one customer for a long time. Whilst standing in the queue, I noticed the lady that I gave my bag to, was leaving. A guy dressed in a security uniform was replacing her.

A few other men went to the parcel counter. And I noticed that the guy behind the parcel counter was handing my bag over to these men. I left the bottle of water behind, and ran to the parcel counter. I screamed at him and told him that I saw him giving my bag to these people.

He laughed at me!!!

I went to customer care, and told a guy named Allen what happened. Obviously, the people there looked at me like a crazy person.

Well done! My bag with my work belonging's would have been ******! No thanks to the people that represent your business!!! I will never shop there EVER AGAIN!!!

Thanks for the apology. But that's not what I require. I want an explanation! Why was the security guard in the parcel counter? And why was he giving my bag to random strangers WITHOUT A TICKET! An apology does not put my mind at ease!!! I will not trust any parcel at a counter. I want an answer. Not what seems to be a computer generated apology. I leave my parcel at my own risk, for it to be given away??? Who would have taken responsibility for the theft?
