Thicness of Plastic of shopping bags

In 2003 a new regulation came into effect prohibiting the manufacture, trade in and commercial distribution of thin plastic bags in all retail stores in South Africa.<br> <br> According to the new law, plastic bags should now be at least 30 microns thick.<br> <br> Most retailers adhere to the new law, but P&P changed back to the old style thin bags a while ago. Their plastic bags are so thin nowadays, customers are lucky if they reach their destination with out the bag falling apart.<br> <br> Why is nobody picking up on this? Why are they allowed to get away with this? They charge the same price as for the thicker bag, but obviously with a bigger profit margin for themselves!!
