their food is sold even though it is no longer goo

I went to Pick n Pay and bought fresh veg that is on the trays and peeled to make soup for my father, when I reached home I realized that it was rotten and smelling. I gave it back the next morning and got a refund. I thought it was just a mistake. the next following week I bought rice with veg and meat to eat on my way to Engcobo which is my hometown. I could not eat the food as it was not in any form healthy to consume. the food was rotten and I don't understand why the person at the deli did not smell that bad smell. I am so disappointed in this shop.
