Thandeka Cashier no client etiquette. Feel hygiene is not important
Pick n Pay Promenade. Another terrible experience.
I'm pretty sure covid taught us to wipe our counters for every customer you serve...
The happening...
Client prior to me gets fully serviced! Sanitized..wiped.. and a smile on the face treatment!!
Now I'm standing waiting with my goods in my hands as I can see the counter is oily and rice grains on it.. ( the normal me before Covid would've just gone ahead and put my good down) ( I have however done so many other times then the cashier would ask me to just hold on as she would like to wipe first(beautiful gesture))
Now because this incurred before I now have it with me that I need to wait untill cashier is done wiping(as per training).
So now I'm standing with my goods and cashier Thandeka holds out her hand for me to out it down.. I kindly asked her can u wipe here please..
Her response... abruptly " I wiped here already" I'm now shocked! I felt like I asked this lady to do something that would make her work either harder or longer!!
So I asked her so u can't wipe the counter for me?
She rep****.. I Sanitized it before you!! .so my issue here is.. why could she sanitize the counter for the client ahead of me and I could not HAVE received the same treatment!!
She is now irritated with me who speaks so calmly to her.. started speaking Xhosa to her 2 buddies at the end of the counter and they too now entertain her as if I am now being very unnecessary!! I am standing in the line with a 7 month old.. 2 year old and 5 teenagers.. Thandeka now really felt she needed to disrespect me just for a little bit of hygiene. Thandeka doesn't know my situation or what allergies I might be suffering from.. Thandeka now just felt that That day she will tell me indirectly that I am just another customer and I can be served on a dirty counter!!!
Is this the kind of standards you guys are aiming for?
NOW IM NOT SAYING THIS CAUSE FOR TROUBLE WHAT I DO HOWEVER SUGGEST IS THAT TRAINING SHOULD BE IMPLEMEMTED AND THAT EVERY CLIENT SHOULD BE TREATED EQUALLY AND WITH UTMOST RESPECT!!!
Thandeka has no client etiquette. English should also be the only language allowed to speak with amd infront of clients . I am lucky to understand Xhosa what about the other who doesn't..
I stood there pretending I ddnt understand them gossiping and I asked for Washiela the manager whom was off on the day of occurrence.
