Terrible service

On the 28th of October my mum bought grocery for about R1900. 00 she actually called in and spoke to the butcher manager about the Lamb that they had on special, the manager took her name down and kept aside the meat for her. Along with her shopping she bought their fresh chickens for about R55.00. We only live less than 10 mins from the Pick n pay in phoenix plaza at the acropolis mall. So she put the chicken in the freezer. On the 5th she took the chicken out to cook and got that awful off smell. She took it to the store with how it was bought with the packaging tags, date still on the label except for the receipt as she threw it away trusting the store and the foods they sell. She went to the store to complain and they did not assist her at all, said she can't exchange or return it as they sell hundreds of this chicken and don't get complains, she ask to speak to the manager but they said she is not there (minty) they thought she left the store but she was still there when she saw the manager walking around. They refused to help her and said she cannot do anything about it. Now is this how pick n pay treats their customer. The issue is not only the chicken being off, but the manner in which they handled the situation. With no work ethics, customer service and surely did not follow the CPA, is this how u treat customers who spends thousands of rands at your store. Joel, MInty and Noel the guys that supposed to practice good customer service just brushed her off and didn't bother to assist with her complain. They actually told her she must bring it the next day when there's an issue, how would we have known, and does that mean the 1 full lamb that we purchased should be cooked all at once to tell u whether something is off or not. I expect this matter to be taken very seriously. You must not give attention to people that you like to cause I'm sure if it was your siblings or families you would not have done this, there's no use working for such a big recognized retailer and not have good work conduct, respect and moral especially, that's definitely not the job for you
