Terrible response/behaviour from Pick n Pay management after one year old got hurt due to their negligence

Last thursday (10 January 2019) my wife went into Pick n Pay clothing at Glengarry centre Durbanville. She pushed our one year old baby in a trolley from another store she just came out of. at the entrance of the store there was a thick carpet and she didn't think much of it when entering the store. She had a look around and just as she exitted the store the front wheels of the trolley caught on the extremely high door tracks and fell forward. Our one year old baby did a complete forward flip out of the trolley and fell on his face on the floor. The staff at the store allowed my wife to record their video footage of the incident and called the regional manager (Sabri Abrahams) who immediately said "Pick n Pay does not acknowledge any responsibility in this matter as my wife came into the store by her own accord with a trolley". After the fall we lifted up the carpet at the store entrance and noticed that when when entering the store there's a incline/ramp but when coming out there's no ramp instead there's a very high step which is impossible to see with the carpet covering it which means that even if my wife had used our stroller the exact same thing would have happened.

I called pick N pay head office the next morning and they connected me with a Lady (Tanya) from Pick n Pay Glengarry. We went to meet with her and after seeing the video she acted very shocked and assured us that they are going to do something about this health hazzard. The next morning Tanya called and told us that the accident was as a result of my wife not looking where she was walking...

I couldn't believe what I just heard and called head office again whereafter they had Sabri Abrahams the regional manager call me. He promised me that he'll keep me updated with the details as to how they plan on correcting this so this doesn't happen to another baby who might not be as lucky as ours. And that was the last I heard of Sabri Abrahams and the entire Pick n Pay team...

My wife posted this video on Youtube and suddenly I received a call from "Anwar" at Pick n Pay informing me that the video footage we posted on youtube belongs to Pick n Pay and that we have to take it down. I told him that we got permission from Pick n Pay clothing Glengarry to record their footage with my wife's phone unconditionally and that unless he can provide me with a written agreement or recording of a verbal agreement between my wife and Pick n Pay clothing Glengarry I will not take the video down. He then said that staff at Pick n Pay are never allowed to give video footage to customers no matter the curcomstances where uppon I told him to then take that up with Pick n Pay Glengarry management...

I think that this is unacceptable behaviour from Pick n Pay managemment and i'm writing this post with the hope that the right person at Pick n Pay seees this and does something. My son could have broken his neck and all they care about is getting out of the responsibility of fixing the hazardous exit/not having anything negative on social media...

I disagree This has not been resolved at all. Pick n Pay have not done anything to ensure that this doesn't happen again. Instead they've spent all their time in this regard to get employees/family members to write negative comments suggesting that the only reason this happened was the trolley my wife had our baby in. If it was his stroller the same thing would have happened and it might have ended up much worse as he would have landed in another position... The reason they put that carpet there in the first place was as a result of a woman falling over the door track and hurting her knees a while ago. I discussed this with an architect and he told me that it is ******* for a retail store to have upright tracks like that, the tracks should be in the floor and should not protrude from the floor at all.
