Talk is Cheap when Promising Customer Satisfaction

On 13 January I bought a P&P ready-prepared box of Lasagna from Pick 'n Pay, Cresta. On the box, both the \sell by"and \""use by\"" date showed 13 January.
I prepared it for dinner according to the instructions on the box and my family was bitterly disappointed as it tasted very sour and was horrible to eat. I looked at the list of ingredients and citric acid was about the third ingredient listed.
On the back of the box is a promise that says something like \""if you are not happy with the quality of this meal we will replace it or refund you\"" so I phoned the customer care line the next day and told the consultant about my experience. She said she would pass a message to the manager at Cresta for them to make sure they check the products' sell-by date and took my contact number. I'm still waiting for a response nearly two and a half-weeks later.
My only conclusion is that \""talk is cheap\"" when it comes to making promises on the quality of the food and the supplier's willingness to replace it or to give you a refund. It makes it highly unlikely that I will buy meals prepared by Pick 'n Pay in the future."""
