Suspicious Funeral Cover Offer

I went to Pick n Pay Maponya Mall on 06 July 2023 for groceries shopping. I was approached by one of their staff members who sold me a Funeral cover, for R120.00 per month. I was keen on taking up the offer as I was looking for one then. He asked me to pay R120.00 on the spot so that I can commence with it. He gave me a receipt as proof of payment and the Whatsapp number to save so that I can be able to add my preferred beneficiaries later on. I tried on numerous occasions to send communication to the said number without success. Am I being taken for a ride or what is happening here?
