Suspected food poisoning
I am writing to formally lodge a complaint regarding food purchased from Pick n Pay Meadow Point. On Thursday evening after 7pm, my family and I bought five (5) R30 food plates from your hot food section. We ate the food shortly after purchase. Between 8pm and 9pm that same evening, all of us began experiencing severe stomach pains and symptoms consistent with food poisoning. The effects have been serious and distressing: My husband began vomiting blood My 13-year-old had severe diarrhoea on Thursday My 10-year-old was extremely unwell and could not walk due to stomach pain My 1 year and 8 month old child was vomiting and had diarrhoea I experienced continuous diarrhoea and stomach ulcers My 5-year-old child is still vomiting as of today (Saturday) It has now been two days and some of us are still sick, which is extremely concerning. This situation has caused significant distress, especially as it involves young children. I would like to know: What food safety and quality checks are done on prepared food sold at your store? Whether this incident will be investigated urgently to prevent harm to other customers I am deeply concerned about the safety of food sold at your Meadow Point branch and request urgent feedback, investigation, and guidance on the next steps. I trust Pick n Pay will treat this matter with the seriousness it deserves.
