Suggestion for price discrepancies elimination - Shelf price vs till point price

This should serve as constructive criticism for these retailers. On the odd occasion, my wife and I have been overcharged for items, i.e. the shelf price does not match the price rung up at the till. We normally check at the till point before leaving the store but sometimes we are forced to leave in a hurry. I becomes inconvenient to call the store to report this and then go back to return the item. These retailers are very helpful, in these instances. MY SUGGESTION: Most PC operating software have the facility to read out aloud any text in a document. The till should be able to read out aloud the name of the item and the price, as the cashier scans the item. This will allow customers to pick up price discrepancies and rectify immediately. I think this will go a long way in promoting customer service and satisfaction. The spin off for the retailer would be that they could adjust the price to the correct price - either up or down.
