Store not interested in replacing/refunding bad produce

We have been shopping at our local PnP in Hout Bay, Cape Town, for several months partly because we have a loyalty card and it is convenient. However, our loyalty is not being rewarded so we are thinking of changing to Checkers & Spar. The main issue is that we have brought back bread that went mouldy one day after we bought it (kept in a cool kitchen) and they werent interested in replacing or refunding. Also, we buy bananas often as we all like them as a family; I have been eating bananas for over 50 years and have never ever seen bananas like PnP's which seem to be consistently rotten inside. The net effect is that we are regularly throwing away 40-50% of the bananas that we have paid for. Again, PnP Hout Bay is not interested in helping us when we have complained. It seems that we are simply wasting our money there. I would also comment whilst I am here that the choice of foods available is pretty *******, even compared to Checkers down the road - and certainly when compared to Spar. Why does the store have aisles and aisles devoted to the same old *******/unhealthy sweets and Bakers biscuits...how about a bit of variety ? It wouldnt hurt you know - and maybe you wouldnt face losing customers like us.
