Store card false promises

I recently activated my Pick n pay store card (credit card). One of the benefits of having this card is that a consumer will receive R200 cash back when making a first payment of R500 or more. On Saturday the 10th March 2018 I bought a 49 inch Hisense tv which costs R4999 at Bedworth Park Hyper market. I made a depisit of R3000 and the remainder of the amount (which is R1999) was paid through the store card.

Instead of receiving the R200 cash back, I received a discount voucher of R50 which will be active for my next purchase of R100 or more at any Pick n pay store. I sent an email to Pick n pay customer care to ask them why instead of R200 cash back I only receive R50 voucher. The email was not responded to.

On Sunday the 11th March 2018, I went to Meyerton Pick n pay where I spent about R200. I wanted to redeem my R50 voucher but to my surprise I was told that my voucher has expired. I then asked the cashier how come my voucher was expired because I only received it the previous day.

She called her supervisor to come and assist. The supervisor told me that I had to wait a bit as she would have to phone the Pick n pay head office. After about 20 minutes she came back and told me that I would have to leave my voucher as well as my particulars and Pick n pay will load the R50 to my smart shopper card before the end of the week (which ended 17 March 2018). Nothing happened and I was never contacted to offer me any updates on the matter.

I am disgusted by the false promises Pick n pay is offering to customers
