Store account opened due to misrepresentation by the Pick n Pay employee.

I went to the Pick n Pay store at Southernwood in Mthatha yesterday.

I was approached by a guy inside the store and he told me that Pick n Pay is running a promotion for customers that have a smart shopper card that starts with 735. I asked him what was the promotion about and he went on to explain that customers that qualify get the chance to double their smart shopper points and get R 200.00 off their next purchase.

He then checked if my smart shopper card starts with 735. Once he got the confirmation he offered to sign me up for this promotion. I agreed and he proceeded to sign me up. It was during this process that he asked for my banking details. I asked him why does he want it. He said that the cash value of the smart shopper points will now be automatically transferred to my bank account. I conceded and gave him my bank details and completed the registration process.

To my surprise, I later received an email that I app**** for an Pick n Pay store account. I did not apply for the Pick n Pay store account. I was misled by the Pick n Pay employee about what I was signing up for. This store account application was done subsequent to the misrepresentation by the Pick n Pay employee.

Therefore, I withdraw this store account application and ask that you do not open the store account
