"Staple" Diet - Diet of staples!!!!

This incident took place on the 20.01.2017 whereby I contacted PNP head office via their online portal, and to date have received no response from Pick n Pay.

I emailed the Customer Service Manageress, who indicated that this had been handed over to the Corporate Brands Division, and to date - still no feeback / response!!

I decided to make the Pick ‘n Pay Chicken Nuggets on Friday (20.01.2017) evening for dinner for myself, husband and two daughters.

The Pick ‘n Pay Chicken Nuggets are something that we frequently purchase, as we have always been pleased with the quality of the product ,for a long time now actually.

Whilst my family and I were eating dinner, I noticed my daughter picking inside her mouth. She then spun around and asked me “mommy, why do you put wire in my food?”
Obviously I flew off my chair to have a look at what she was talking about. It was upon closer inspection that I saw what looks like a half a staple, which was inside one of the chicken nuggets.

She then stated to me that she had taken a bite, and thought it was a bone, and therefore took it out her mouth (THANK GOODNESS!!!!).

I am absolutely shocked by this and needless to say, I am now rather apprehensive about the quality of the remainder of the Pick ‘n Pay branded products.

Can you imagine the damage that could have been caused by a sharp staple end moving its way down my daughters throat / stomach / intestines etc?!

We all know that "accidents happen" and I like to think of myself as a very fair person, but when something dangerous such as this, is brought to the attention of such a huge corporate brand, one would think that they would contact you in order to investigate or at least APOLOGISE... for the inconvenince of having to prepare something else for my daughter to eat that evening, and for the lost time spent having to email / report this to them.

I would appreciate feedback on this matter, and have photographs of the box and staple for your perusal and comment, as I feel that this is completely unacceptable.
