Sorry Mam, take R300 and calculate the discounts yourself

Its all very exciting that Pick n Pay advertises there black Friday specials, and in store discounts, but then the discounts do not get calculated at the till. On 26 November 2020, we went to Pick n Pay Norwood, to do our monthly shopping as we seen all the great specials. We spent over R7500.00 on our shopping, we shopped and took full advantage of all the specials, When we get to the till to pay, we realised that non of the discounts have been taken into account, after questioning it, the teller tried again, still no luck. I was then told to pay the full amount and the discounts will be calculated. after 15 minutes the store assistant/manager offered us R300.00, and asked if we could go home calculate the discounts and come back to him. now really how would i remember all the specials. after we disagreed to that, we were then told to wait while our discounts are calculated. While sitting and waiting, we decided to check on our side as well, which discounts needed to be app****. we were then told our discounts added up to roughly R500.00 but on my side, I had calculated R700.00, and then the process of working out our discounts started again. Eventually about 90 minutes later, the store had given us the correct discount of R742.00. Which we had to then take on a Pick n pay gift card. I had recently been for a major operation, and was in a wheel chair. I had to sit in the store and calculate my own discounts. what utter nonsense. What started as a quick shopping experience turned out to be a nightmare. Please check your cameras for reference. We had asked on the special of the Samsung TV, as we had planned to buy that as well, after paying for our groceries, but with all this we were slightly skeptical to spend that amount in a store that seemed to be ***********. The store assistant Manger then said due to the inconvenience, he will try and see if he could arrange a small discount on the TV, due to the inconvenience caused, this was last week Thursday, today is Monday and we had no feedback as yet. this is store is completely a waste of time and effort. I am sorry to say this, as we have been shopping here since I was a kid, I stay in the south and drive all the way to shop at Norwood, as we usually have a very pleasant experience, I am a loyal customer at Pick N Pay, please feel free to check my spenditure at your pick n pay stores. Just a small piece of advice, always check your receipts to make sure all discounts have been app****. I would have almost paid R700 more, if I did not make sure. this is complete incompetence. 4 days later and no correspondence received.
