Sold Expired Yoghurt – Caused Stomach Cramps and Disrupted My Studies
On 1 November 2025, I placed an order for yoghurt through the Pick n Pay app, which was delivered on 2 November. I have since discovered that the yoghurt expired on 1 November, meaning it was already expired when it was delivered to me.
As a student preparing for exams, I have been eating it unknowingly for several days and am now suffering from stomach cramps and discomfort, which have affected my ability to study. This is completely unacceptable and shows a serious lack of quality control and care for customers’ health.
I have kept the packaging showing the expiry date, as well as my order confirmation and delivery details. I expect an immediate response, refund, and accountability for this negligence.
If this matter is not resolved urgently, I will report Pick n Pay to the National Consumer Commission (NCC) for selling expired food products, which is a violation of the Consumer Protection Act.
