Smart Shopper Rewards

We recently went to our local Pick n Pay in mall@reds to convert our smart shopper points for movie tickets. While the machine was processing the conversion, a technical error occured. We then tried again, however the points had already been removed from the account but we did not receive the slip containing the codes that we use to redeem at the cinema for tickets. The friendly staff at the PnP mall@reds then helped us to contact the customer care line. The lady was very helpful and said that the codes would be sent on an sms so we then proceeded to drive to the nearest of the specific cinemas. After an hour we had missed our selected movie time slot. We then phoned the customer care line and was this time told that the system had an error and that our problem can only be escalted and solved on Monday. My problems are that the system was able to take points off of the account but could not provide a slip in return and that we were told that the codes would be sent on an sms and no one could be bothered to atleast notify us that the system has an error up until that we actualy phoned again and asked for ourselves what is going on. On that advise, we wasted time and petrol driving to the cinema and waiting for the codes that never came. We support Pick n Pay because they have rewards such as these, even when there are other supermarkets around, and then this is the experience that we receive when we actualy try and use those points.

Good day

We received the ticket codes thank you, however it is Monday today and we were standing at the cinemas on Saturday, after we had driven to, and waited at the cinemas for an hour before we had to contact the customer care to find out what is going on. You merely provided us with what we used the points for, but two days late. I have been inconvienced and embaressed and would have expected a company like Pick n Pay to handle the situation better. It does not seem that Pick n Pay truley cares about the discomfort caused.
