Smart Shopper points deleted without adequate warning.
I've been a loyal Pick n Pay customer for some 20 years now, despite my local Gardens centre branch no longer stocking many of the essentials I used to buy. In recent years the Smart Shopper points system was the only reason I went there. I had saved up almost R900 worth of points. Today I found out that Pick n Pay had taken a management decision to allow accumulated points to expire, effectively robbing me of the R900. They have defended this action saying they gave shoppers adequate notice, however somehow, even though they have my number, my email address and the entire surface area of their stores to communicate this, I seem to have missed the message somehow. Which makes me wonder where they hid it. this has to be the most disingenous, cynical piece of market related manouvering they have ever undertaken and I will from now on be limiting my shopping there to emergencies only.

Smart Shopper points are valid for 12 months from the time they’re earned. Only points older than 12 months will expire and not all of your points, and points older than 12 months will continue to expire on a rolling month basis. The best way not to lose your PnP rewards is to make sure you spend them from time to time. We always use your oldest points first so use your points to save even more on every day shopping or treat yourself to something special. You can switch points on the app or via the kiosk.
