Smart shopper points and BP

Pick & Pay and BP are in a joint venture where you can earn points when you fill up at any BP garage and you swipe your smart shopper card. In more than one occasion the card machine just prints a host error and I did not get the points. It is a waste off time to drive away from other filling stations to a BP filling station to make use of the offer to earn points just to hear sorry sir the machine does not work.
