Smart Shopper points

Dear Smart Shopper.

At the start of December I had R1200+- on my card. I went to use it for my Christmas shopping and discovered I only had R250+- so I decided not to use it. I logged on to the SmartShopper website today and I only have R144.

I understand that your points only last 12months but to drop from R1200 to R250 in the space of 2 weeks is impossible.

I have logged 2 complaints on your website and no one has come back to me in the last 2 weeks.

I find it very suspicious that I am not being able to access a statement on your website or at a store terminal. Therefore please can you provide me with a statement showing points accumulated/deducted so I can see what is going on.

From what I understand I am not the only person whose points have disappeared.

Regards John

Hi John,

Thank you for choosing Pick n Pay and taking the time to write to us.

We have addressed your complaint with our smart shopper team and have been advised as per below:

  • Customer currently has 14 491 point on his card which is equivalent to R144.91.
  • Last switch and spend on the card was done on 17.06.207 for 39700 points (R397.00)
  • Total amount of points earned on card is 54191 (54191 - 39700= 14 491)
  • After switch done in June 2017 accumulated points balance is 14 491.
  • No points were deducted from customer card on 01.01.2018.

Smart Shopper points are valid for 12 months from the time they’re earned. Only points older than 12 months will expire and not all of your points, and points older than 12 months will continue to expire on a rolling month basis.

The best way not to lose your PnP rewards is to make sure you spend them from time to time. We always use your oldest points first so use your points to save even more on every day shopping or treat yourself to something special. You can switch points on the app or via the kiosk.

We value you as a Pick n Pay customer and are committed to improve continually on our service levels.

Kind Regards,

Vanitha Venketas

Best regards,
