Short changing Pensioners

I wish to draw attention to the Pick and Pay reward for pensioners. Their offer is to give double Smart Shopper points for purchases made on Wednesdays. I have been using this for some time and when I did a big shop at Pick and Pay I found that my till slip had the normal single allocation of Smart Shopper points. This despite my having been advised when I swiped my smart shopper card that i would be getting double points for my shop but this was conditional and valid for the date of issue only. What had happened was that while I was shopping I had a coffee at the cafe and my double points had been given to me then and not when I checked out my main shop. I raised this issue with P&P Customer Care and they were insistent that there offer is for a single voucher only and while they said "they will refer the issue to their systems department they are very unlikely to change it". I would like to make all P&P Smart Card holders who qualify for this reward to be made aware of these facts and ensure they check out with their main shop first as currently there will be no further double points available on that day. If you have multiple transactions be aware that only the first will qualify for double points. Pensioners should use this system to their best advantage and be informed that unlike many (all?) other major brands such as Builders Warehouse, Makro etc Pick and Pays offer to pensioners on Wednesdays is for double points on the first shop only. To add insult to this Pick and Pay have recently reduced Smart Shopper points by half only crediting 1 point for every R2 spent. I also see in the small print points are lost as soon as they are 12 months old - be warned!!! I have never been advised of potentially loosing points and will need to check this out as this advice may well not be part of their system and points are lost without any notice. My impression is that Smart Shopper points are reluctantly given to loyal Pensioners with several strings attached all of which reduces the benefit to people who can ill afford it and previously have welcomed the reward for shopping at a time convenient to P&P
