Shopping Nightmare

The shopping nightmare has become even more **********. That is if you go and shop at the Pick 'n Pay Local in Grassy Park on the M5. The shop is smelly - like stinky, rotting meat smelly and dirty. The queues are not that long but you seem to be standing in the queue for at least 15 minutes. Barring the fact that the cashiers have no help from a packer, they are ill equipped to function at their best. I was forced to raise my concerns with the manager last night as I found myself in a queue of 6 customers but still waited exactly 18 minutes before it was my turn to pay. Each customer spent more than R100 and the cashier had to saunter over to the cigarette counter to fetch the darned Wild Animal cards as their prize for spending plus, to add insult to injury, she also had to pack the groceries into bags. Now last night the Smartshopper website was offline but the cashier insisted on swiping each and every card even though she got an "error" message, she was just more determined to swipe it even harder. So after 2 to 3 swipes she gave up but tried her darndest with each and every customer's Smarshopper card. I might also add that this was peak time, between 17h00 and 18h00 and there were 3 cashiers on duty. As I was very calmly relating my concerns to the manager, he was giving me his best "I dont give-a ****-look". I related to him the fact that the shop is always dirty and smelly and that the cashiers are ill equipped to do their job and that is why the queues take so long AND that I would rather go out of my way to the Plumstead, Gabriel Road branch, which is a far busier store, queues are long but they move quickly! The manager did not say a word.. he just looked at me and I walked away. If I stayed.. I surely would have decked him!!
